Growing Scotland’s Green Workforce

In collaboration with Forth Valley College, we have brought on four new modern apprentices, covering Process Operations and Electrical Engineering, training a new generation of talent in the low-carbon sector.

To showcase this programme and track the apprentices journey, we are developing four short films throughout the year and we’re delighted to release the first film.

In the first film, we hear from the apprentices at the very beginning of their journey and what brought them to Celtic Renewables. We also hear from our team including our CEO, Mark Simmers and our CPO, Kerry Johnson, who both highlight how important these apprenticeship programmes are to Celtic Renewables and supporting the Just Transition in Scotland.

The film also features members of the Celtic Renewables team including Sean McManus, Production Manager and Colin Niblo, Site Maintenance Lead. Sean started his career as an apprentice at Forth Valley College, and will now lead the apprentices on their journey, showing the pathways that can follow from completing an apprenticeship. Colin also started his career with an apprenticeship and will be working closely with the apprentices, he will soon undertake an Engineering course at Heriott Watt University, helping him expand his knowledge for his role as Production Lead at Celtic Renewables.

We recognise that to build a leading team and support the Just Transition, we need to invest in current and future talent, which is exactly what we’re doing.
