British Renewable Energy Awards

  • Celtic Renewables has been shortlisted for the British Renewables Energy Awards 2015, under the Innovation category.

The British Renewable Energy Awards is the most prestigious event for the UK renewables industry - recognising and celebrating the achievements of companies and individuals who have made a significant difference within the renewable energy industry. Now in its 10th year, the British Renewable Energy Awards Gala Dinner will take place on Thursday, 18th June 2015 at The Savoy in London.

Celtic Renewables has been shortlisted for the Innovation award which recognises any innovative, renewable energy conversion device, invention or application which has achieved a major milestone or reached the market since January 2014.

Celtic Renewables is widely regarded as the leading start-up company in the biofuel sector in the UK. The company was officially launched in early 2012 to commercialise a world leading innovation that combines the low value by-products of malt whisky production and converts them into high value advanced sustainable biofuel.

The nomination follows the history making milestone Celtic Renewables achieved in February this year by being the first in the world to produce biofuel capable of directly powering cars from residues of the whisky industry (Click to view Celtic Renewables press release on our world first butanol sample ).

Celtic Renewables Founder and President Professor Martin Tangney said:

“It has been a year of hard work by everyone at Celtic Renewables and we are honoured to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. It acknowledges the tremendous growth and achievement within the company in the last 12 months”
