Celtic Renewables Ltd is proud to announce that Dr Eve Bird, Head of Innovation and Technology, has won in the prestigious category of ACHIEVER AWARD at the inaugural Young Professionals Green Energy Awards. The new awards follow in the footsteps of the hugely successful Scottish Green Energy Awards, now in its 12th year.
Professor Martin Tangney, Founder of Celtic Renewables Ltd said:
'We are all very proud of Dr Bird, a worthy winner and a key innovator in the company. She is a valuable asset to renewables within Scotland'
Eve joined Celtic Renewables where she leads research and innovation for the company, developing the technology at scale and leading pilot scale trials at the BioBase Europe Pilot plant in Ghent, converting the residues of the whisky industry into an advanced biofuel. Eve’s exceptional work in Belgium led to the recent announcement of the purification of the world’s first ever sample of biobutanol from industry residues – a historic achievement. Eve has also developed other pioneering new projects at the University, most recently gaining funding from Interface to work with Scottish farmers to convert reject potatoes to biofuel. Eve is an active supporter of narcolepsy research and is a mentor for dyslexic students at Edinburgh Napier University. Eve’s achievements are truly remarkable and she is an outstanding young professional in the Scottish Renewables sector.
